The real estate industry

Most people working real estate work full-time, however, the nature of a lot of the work in his industry allows for part-time work as well. The industry’s demographic is diverse, with people of all ages making up the current workforce and an even split between female and male employees.
The average salary in a real estate profession is hard to define as most people in real estate work for commission. How much commission an agent gets per sale depends on a number of variables such as:
- If they run their own real estate business
- If they work for an agency
- Which suburbs they work within
- What they’ve negotiated with their client, per sale
An agent’s commission can sit anywhere from 1%-5% in Australia, with the average usually sitting around 2.3%. More experienced senior agents are usually able to negotiate higher.
